Starland — 2026 Redux
Ten years since I recorded this record, released it then deleted it completely. I know some of you downloaded it back then… But for me, I couldn’t stand it, it wasn’t right. Don’t know why… just felt like nothing worked. Couldn’t sing at all, couldn’t find the vocal range, couldn’t find the sound that I heard in my head. It wasn’t that it had flaws, my records are full of flaws. It’s that it just wasn’t… right.
I fell so out of love with it, I wiped it completely from the internet, figured it was a failed experiment. But I could never quite let this one go.
I don’t know what drew me back to it, I’d poked and prodded at it before when I was bored but not seriously. Lately, however… I’ve had a lot of time on my hands so I started properly remixing, finding moments in the recordings, facing my vocal demons, adding new layers, listening to the awesome moments that George and Sam brought to the music.
I don’t know. Maybe it was just meant for 2026.
So I’ve updated it somewhat and I think it finally sounds like a record that I’m proud of. I think I’m finally happy to let it go. Fly little record.
