In March 2015 we invited a bunch of beautiful friends and musicians to record a song in our shed — our studio and Hawk Moth Records HQ for over twelve months. We were moving out and it was time to pull it all down and move on. We wanted to capture everyone raw and unproduced, and just right.
The shed had served as Hawk Moth Records HQ for over a year — a place where songs were tracked, mixed and sent out into the world on a shoestring and a prayer. When it came time to leave, we didn't want to just walk away.
So we threw open the doors, plugged in what we had, and invited everyone we loved to come and play. No overdubs. No second takes. Just a room, a microphone, and whatever you had in you that afternoon.
Seventeen artists. Seventeen songs. A fitting tribute to a place that meant everything to us, captured in a single session before we tore it all down.
